Targeting and Retargeting

  • What are the targeting options?

You can find the targeting options in the Spec Sheet. While we recommend allowing the algorithm to do its magic, we can set up targeting by Age, Gender, Language, Education Level, People with kids, and Relationship Status

  • Can we set up detailed targeting?

We allow detailed targeting by request for monthly Social budgets of $1,000+. Note the expected range of performance will vary from the Social Rate Card.

  • What are the targeting options for employment ads?

Employment ads fall under Facebook’s Special Ad Category. Age, gender, ZIP code, exclusion targeting, lookalike audiences, saved audiences and some interests are unavailable for this group per Facebook. The geo-targeting options include:

    • City (cities) must include a radius of at least 15 miles
    • Address (addresses) + radius targeting must have a minimum radius of 15 miles
    • State (states) targeting

  • Can we target ads outside of the United States?

No. All targeting is the US only.

  • Can we run a national/nationwide campaign?

We no longer offer nationwide campaigns as they are not effective based on our client's budget levels.

  • How do iOS updates affect my clients’ targeting?

The iOS updates make the choice to opt-in/out of tracking more obvious. This has always been a choice for consumers. Consumers who opt out of tracking will no longer be included in audiences where the data was required for targeting.

  • When does an account become eligible for retargeting?

The Facebook pixel must be installed to become eligible for retargeting. This is done automatically for Hibu Websites. We need a minimum of 1,000 unique identified Facebook users to visit the business website and execute the pixel in a 6-month rolling window to capture the data needed for audience retargeting.

Content

  • Can we run Social ads in Spanish?

    Sí.

  • I have a customer that sells a specific brand of products. Can they use the brand in their Social ads?

If a brand is mentioned in the ad, then the advertiser must have permission from the brand owner to use the name in the ad.

  • Can my client promote hemp products?

This would fall under Meta's policy for unsafe supplements and advertising such is determined by Meta in its sole discretion: https://www.facebook.com/policies/ads/prohibited_content/unsafe_supplements

  • Can my client promote a distillery business?

Ads promoting alcohol require age targeting of 21+. This must also be applied to the Facebook page as well.

  • Can MLM businesses (multilevel marketing) use Hibu Social?

No. MLM businesses are not eligible.

Page Connections

  • My client’s page is in a business manager and cannot connect it to the Social platform.

The client needs to dispute page ownership with Meta. Since this page is in a business manager, the info required for any dispute is information only contained in the business manager that owns the page. The best way to get access, in this case, is to try to identify who had access to the page and work with them to get access to the Business Manager. If they cannot identify them, we recommend starting over with a new Page.

  • My client lost access to their Facebook page. Can we recover their access?

In these cases, Meta has recommended completely starting over with a new page. DSC can assist in setting up the new page during consultation.

  • My client is in “Facebook jail”. What can we do?

Here is the policy on repeat infringement: https://www.facebook.com/help/350712395302528

The client may also access https://facebook.com/accountquality while logged in (if they still have access) to view any restrictions on their account along with whatever Facebook is requiring to appeal a restriction placed on the account.

  • My client connected their Facebook page for Listings. Do they need to connect it again for Social?

Yes. These are two separate apps that do very different things. Facebook requires that permission is given for each.

Other

  • Will a customer still be able to "boost posts" on Facebook if we are connected to the page?

Yes, they can still do this alongside Hibu Social. Hibu Social is managed from a separate ad account. The business may run other advertising, including boosted posts from their own ad account.

  • Can we use a video that is longer than 15 seconds in length?

No. Facebook recommends videos are no longer than 15 seconds in length.

  • What are the options for landing page URL?

The landing page for a Social campaign may be any web URL that is not a Facebook page.
